We can’t even do laundry with out running out of water, and our showers have to be super fast!
After spending $3,000.00 to get the well drilled is there anyway we can make the guy who drilled it come back and drill us another one at little or no cost.
He lied and took us for almost all we had. with the lack of rain we’ve been out of water for 3 weeks. I just want to take a shower in my own home again.
It is a deep well, with no screens in the bottom. when we first ran out a week after he drilled it, i called and he said it may be because he ran the drill up and down the well, and it may have caused mud to mud seal off the sides where water was coming in. He told us to wait about a month and it would be fine, it’s been almost a year!

If you have his statements in writing or at least have a witness to what he said, you may be able to force him via small claims court, if he refuses to make this good. ~

I used to work for a drilling outfit here in Kansas several years ago. It might be that your screens at the bottom of the well are plugged. It might be that all it needs is purged. Have you tried talking to the drilling company that you hired to see if they could either purge your existing well or perhaps because it is not producing as they claimed they would drop a new well for you. I really couldn’t see it being a big problem unless you have a really deep well. But at any rate i would find someone to purge it for you first.

The sides were the water comes in is called the screens, if he has packed them with mud they need cleaned out, they won’t do it by themselves. This guy is feeding you a line because their is no way he ran the drill up and down and plugged it up. After they drill the hole they then push casing down the hole, usually pvc pipe. At the bottom of this pipe for probably 3 or 4 feet are the holes in the side (screen) that let the water into were the pump is hanging. There could be a chance that the hole collasped while they were pushing the pipe down, but if that was the case the drilling company has to drill you a new well because they mucked this one up.The drilling company needs to come out with a air compressor and purge that well. I bet it will be just fine if you can find someone to do that. Also double check the depth of the pipe compared to what they told you they drilled to. If the pipe is short then you know they collasped the hole and you for sure won’t get any water.
Well it sounds like a pretty shallow well if it only cost you $3,000 (mine was $18,000 with no guarantee there’s even be water there). I also imagine that you have a pump in the well…going to just a pressure tank? I didn’t think people did it that way anymore. Maybe you should invest in a storage tank. When the water’s good you can keep it filled and in times where water’s short you can have some brought in. Or you could have someone come in and drill a little deeper. I wouldn’t blame the well-driller, though. Someone can’t predict what water levels are going to be at all the time, especially in a shallow well. Maybe you can plead with him to come back and drill deeper for a discount. Good luck!
You could check to see if the well is actualy dry or not by dropping string with a big nut attached for weight down the well. With this you can measure where the wettness happens and check your water level as compared to where your pump should be sitting.
I would try talking to them first. If that does not work you can call the better business bureau (BBB) Where i live we have news teams that confront company’s with bad business practices.

I would guess a 3k well is very shallow and you got royaled. Plain and simple. Have you got a signed paper of any kind?
No screen and he said he ran his drill up and ….what kind of crap is this? He’s full of bull. Tell him to get his butt back and do the job right this time. If he refuses get and attorney. Don’t waste your time with BBB they’re nothing but eyewash in most areas and aren’t authorized to do anything more then take a complaint, that it.
Go to the courthouse and see if this guy has a license, if not let them know what to do.
If all else fails see an attorney and file a judgment against him for the well, you may be able to get your money back if you win through his equipment you can sell. This should put some fire under him to come back and do the job right.
Where I come from well drillers will start four or five jobs and don’t finish one, the party has to track them down and force them to come back, another trick is to leave and old rig set up at one place and work two or three other places. Who’s to know what’s going on, then they come around with this BS like they told you.
